Dr Marcella Fok is a Consultant Medical Psychotherapist and psychoanalyst based in London. She works in the NHS at Central & North West London and also sees patients in private practice in central London. She is fluent in Cantonese and proficient in Mandarin.
Dr Fok has been working in the NHS for 18 years and is experienced in the assessment and treatment of a range of common and severe mental health problems. She has a particular interest in treating patients holistically, combining pharmacological and psychotherapeutic approaches.
Dr Fok graduated in medicine at the University of Edinburgh, and gained a research doctorate in psychological medicine at King's College London (Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience). She trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital; she trained in Medical Psychotherapy at the Maudsley Hospital, the Halliwick Unit at St. Ann’s Hospital, and the Tavistock Clinic in London. She is experienced in a range of therapeutic modalities (including mentalization, psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive analytic, cognitive behavioural). She is also an Anna Freud Centre approved Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) supervisor.
Dr Fok is a qualified psychoanalyst and offers intensive analytic therapy and psychoanalysis in private practice.
Dr Fok is involved in teaching, clinical supervision, training and research. She has published research papers and presented at regional and international conferences.
